
COACHING COURSES
Artistic Swimming NSW/ACT organizes two coach accreditation courses a year. The course is also known as the Level 1 Synchro coaching course and is accredited under the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) and held for two 6 hour days over a weekend
1. Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- Facilitate the learning of basic level synchro skills
- Plan and conduct basic level training sessions
- Choreograph and facilitate the learning of introductory level routines
- Be an effective synchronised swimming coach
2. Enrollment
- There are no pre-requisites nor experience necessary to enrol in the course.

3. Course Participation
Prior to participating in the program, participants must:
- Be financial members of Synchronized Swimming Australia or hold current Coaching Insurance cover
- Have successfully completed a recognized cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course
- Have read and signed the Coach’s Code of Ethics Agreement Form
4. Receiving the Full Accreditation
In order to achieve full accreditation, within three months of attending the course coaches must:
- Complete all required assessment tasks
- Be 16 years of age
- Complete the ASC online “Community Coaching General Principles” course
- Complete 10 hours of supervised practical coaching
Upcoming Coaching Course Details
The next course is scheduled for Saturday June 2 (day1) and Saturday June 16th (day2) at Monte Sante Angelo School in North Sydney. The course runs approximately 9am -3pm. Click Here to register.
COACHING SEMINAR
State Coaching Coordinators Katarina Hall will be hosting a coaching seminar on August 4th, 2018 at Monte Sante Angelo pool. This seminar will review the materials learnt at the FINA Intermediate coaching course.
JUDGING COURSES
Synchro NSW is testing a new judging course format for the 2018-2019 year. The introductory course is divided into 4 modules which will be delivered over the year. New parents & synchro enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the training.
Module A. Competitive Basics
- Time: June 23rd, 2018 11am – 1pm (1:00-3pm opportunity to practice)
- Place: Monte Sante Angelo School, North Sydney

- Judging basic competitive movements: positions, eggbeater, body boosts
- Understand the evaluation process and skills for the recreational star levels
Module B: Judging Difficulty and Artistic impression of free Routines
- Time: September 8th, 2018
- Place: Canberra

- Understand the routine scoring scale
- Understand judging difficulty and artistic impression in free routines
